The Who’s “Won’t get Fooled Again” merits inclusion here due to the fact that it is so easy to misunderstand. The song is not, as some think, a revolutionary call to arms; nor, though, is it particularly anti-revolutionary, as others argue. Instead, the song is the working man’s smirk at the perpetual sneer he receives from the whole high-minded crowd, and this theme, which is ever underrepresented in art, is expressed here as well as just about anywhere.
